Our passion is Scottish Heritage and the passing of traditions, what better way to continue preserving our Heritage, than by providing the highest quality highland dress and accessories, which will last for future generations!
The kilt is an item of traditional Scottish highland dress worn by some Scottish regiments, by pipe bands, and by some Scotsmen or men of Scottish descent on special occasions; others go to Scottish heritage-related events such as a formal "Burn's Night" dinner, or athletic events such as the Highland Games. There are various other forms of the kilt such as the Northumbrian kilt, Irish kilt, Welsh kilt, Cornish kilt, and the Contemporary kilt.
Contemporary kilts are becoming increasingly popular in the USA and Canada.
These non-traditional kilts come in a range of styles, including leather kilts, casual kilts (denim, corduroy, and cotton), formal or casual dress, athletic, hunting, white or blue collar work, and outdoor recreational kilts. There are many occasions to wear the kilt. Many wear their kilt for no reason at all. As the owner of Kargo Kilts, I wear my kilts for any occasion, whether it is at work, rest or just going to the local pub, I change the look of my outfit, just by changing my sporran, taking off the jacket and putting on a t-shirt or a sweater.Traditional Scottish Weddings, with the Groom & Groomsmen in the Kilt of their Clans, are the best way to celebrate your heritage!
Let Kargo Kilts make your Scottish or Irish Wedding a perfect affair!

| The kilt pin is usually worn on the lower corner of the outer apron of a kilt. Its function is to prevent the apron falling or blowing open. | |
| A small knife dagger called a Sgian Dubh is often worn tucked into the top of the kilt hose which is commonly worn with the kilt. This item has its historical origins as a utility knife. Again, as with most items of traditional Scottish apparel and accessories, they come in a very wide variety, from fairly plain to quite elaborate silver and gem ornamented designs. A longer knife, called a dirk is sometimes worn hung from the kilt belt. | |

| Ghillie Brogues are a type of shoe with laces along the instep and no tongue. Although now primarily worn for dancing and social events, ghillies originated as a shoe that would drain water and dry quickly due to the lack of a tongue, and not get stuck in the mud because the laces were above the ankle. |

Kargo Kilts was established in 2004; we are situated along the mighty Saint John River in New Brunswick, only a short distance away from the Historical town of Gagetown, where the provincial tartan was woven.
The provincial tartan was designed by the Loomcrofters of Gagetown, N.B., and officially adopted in 1959. It is registered at the Court of The Lord Lyon, King of Arms in Scotland. Represented in the design are the forest green of lumbering, the meadow green of agriculture, the blue of coastal and inland waters, all interwoven with gold, a symbol of the province's potential wealth. The red blocks represent the loyalty and devotion of the early Loyalist settlers and the Royal New Brunswick Regiment.
We plan to add Highland Bagpipes and Clan Tartans in the real near future. Please check back often, we are constantly adding new products..., if we don't have what you are looking for or you would like to see us carry just Contact Us here at Kargo kilts and we will be happy to get back to you.
